How to challenge a friend to a 1v1 (and settle it for good)

A step-by-step guide to challenging a friend to a 1v1 on BYLT: post a challenge, let the app set up the game, and let the game data decide who wins.

Every group has the argument. Who is actually better? A custom game between friends usually ends in a debate: someone wasn't trying, the rules were never clear, the score depends on who's telling it. A BYLT duel settles it: clear rules, one game, and a result read from the game data on both PCs.

What you both need

  • A BYLT account each, created on play.bylt.gg.
  • The BYLT app running on the PC each of you plays on (Windows 10 or 11).
  • A game account on the same region, EUW or NA, signed in to your game client.

The app links your game account by itself the first time you open it while signed in. You never give BYLT a password.

Post the challenge

  1. Post a challenge on play.bylt.gg. Pick the region and the entry. Both players pay the same entry, and the winner takes both.
  2. Tell your friend to accept it. Your challenge shows up in the open challenges on play.bylt.gg. Open challenges are visible to everyone, so agree on the entry and the time first and have your friend accept it right away.
  3. Keep the BYLT app open. Your app creates the game in your client and invites your friend. Their app accepts the invite on its own, and both of you are seated automatically.
  4. Champion select starts. Every duel is all random, so neither of you picks. You get what you get.

Play it out

Three objectives are live at once: first blood, first tower and 100 CS. The first one either of you reaches wins the duel. That means you can't just farm safely, and you can't just look for an all-in either. If you want to prepare, read how to win a 1v1 and how a BYLT duel is won.

The result

Each app reads the game data during the duel. When both agree, the duel settles immediately, the prize is credited and the app closes the game for both of you. No screenshots, no arguing in chat. If something goes wrong (a disconnect, data that isn't conclusive), a moderator reviews the game data and anything you both upload. The full details are in the duel rules.

Want a rematch?

Send another challenge. Every duel moves your BYLT rating, so a rivalry with a friend shows up on the ladder too. And if your whole group wants in, a tournament puts everyone in one bracket.
