A duel answers who is better between two players. A tournament answers who is the best of everyone who showed up. BYLT tournaments are single-elimination brackets where every match is a normal BYLT duel: all random, and the first player to reach first blood, first tower or 100 CS wins.
Free tournaments and entry tournaments
- Free tournaments cost nothing to join. BYLT pays the prizes.
- Entry tournaments have an entry, and the prize pool is made of the entries. The tournament page shows how the pool is split, for example winner takes all, or prizes for the top 2, 4, 8 or 16.
Every tournament page shows its entry, prizes, player limit and format before you register, so you know exactly what you are joining.
Registering and checking in
- Register on the Tournaments page of play.bylt.gg. One entry per player and per PC.
- Check in before the start. The check-in window is shown on the tournament page. Players who don't check in are removed from the bracket.
- Keep the BYLT app open when your match is due. It sets up each game just like a regular duel.
Seeding
Brackets are seeded either by rating or drawn at random, depending on the tournament. Seeding by rating keeps the strongest players apart in the early rounds, so the final is more likely to be between the two best players in the field. Some tournaments are also limited to a rating range, so everyone plays at a similar level.
Big brackets and multi-day tournaments
Tournaments can be small or very large. Big ones run over several days, with a set number of rounds each day, so nobody has to play ten matches in one evening. The tournament page shows when each round starts.
Prizes
Prizes are paid in coins as soon as the final is over, and you can withdraw them like any other prize. Past tournaments, with their winners and prizes, stay visible in the tournament history.
How to prepare
A tournament is a series of duels, so everything that wins a duel wins a tournament. Start with how a BYLT duel is won, then read how to win a 1v1. Since every match is all random, practise on champions you don't usually play: why every duel is all random explains why that matters.
