The BYLT app
Yes. Both players need it running on the PC they play on. It creates the game in your client, invites your opponent and reads the game data, so nobody has to report anything.
Windows 10 and 11 for now. A Mac version is coming.
It installs for your Windows user only, without admin rights, and you can uninstall it like any other app. It isn't code-signed yet, so Windows may show a blue warning the first time: click More info, then Run anyway.
It talks to your game client through the client's own local interface: it creates the duel's game, sends or accepts the invite, and reads the game data during your duel. It never reads the game's memory, never touches game files and never sees your password.
No. It waits quietly by the clock, does nothing while your game client is closed, and only reads a little data during a duel.
Click Connect in the app. Your browser opens BYLT: sign in if needed and confirm. The link only works on the PC where the app is running, so nobody can connect your account from somewhere else.
Yes, once it's connected, it starts quietly in the tray so you never miss a duel. You can turn that off in the app's settings.
Yes, up to 3. You can see them and remove one any time in Settings on play.bylt.gg.
Keep it open until the duel is over. If one player's app goes silent, the duel goes to a moderator instead of settling on its own.
Download it again from Settings on play.bylt.gg: the link always gives the latest version. Installing it over the old one keeps your connection.
Your account
Automatically. Open the BYLT app while you're signed in to your game client, and it links that account to your BYLT account.
The app never switches on its own: it tells you the account it sees isn't the linked one. To switch, unlink the old account in Settings on play.bylt.gg, then open the app signed in to the new one. You can't switch during a duel.
No. A game account can only be linked to one BYLT account.
Never. The app reads which account is signed in to your client. No password ever goes through BYLT.
Anyone 18 or older, with one BYLT account per person.
Duels
Three objectives are live in every duel: first blood, first tower and 100 CS. The first player to reach any of them wins.
The app of the player who posted the challenge creates the game and invites the opponent. The opponent's app accepts the invite by itself. In ranked, the app of the first player matched hosts.
Each player's app reads the game data. When both agree, the duel settles at once. If they don't, a moderator reviews it.
If one player isn't in the lobby within 10 minutes, the duel is cancelled and both entries are returned in full. The no-show gets a cooldown before their next duel.
Surrendering counts as a loss. A disconnect doesn't pause the duel: your opponent can keep playing and reach an objective.
No. Every duel is all random, so neither player can bring a counterpick. It's the same coin flip for both of you.
A moderator reviews the game data and the proof both players upload (screenshots, clips) and rules on it. Entries stay locked until then.
